Collaborations and Partnerships

Participating in the class offered to the Johnson County Park and Recreation 50 Plus team was a truly transformative experience. The class used improv principles in an applied and accessible way to strengthen key workplace skills—communication, teamwork, customer service, listening, creativity, and adaptability.

While many of us were pushed outside of our comfort zones, the experience fostered significant personal and team growth. We gained new insights into one another, learned to listen more actively, communicate more effectively, and work collaboratively—not just by sharing our own ideas, but by building on the ideas of others.

This engaging and unconventional approach to team building brought energy, laughter, and a deeper sense of connection among our team. I highly recommend this experience to any organization looking for a meaningful and creative way to develop a stronger, more cohesive team.

Carrie Blubaugh brought so much energy and laughter to Kingswood this summer! Her presentation on using simple improv techniques to boost communication, build connection, and add a little joy to your day was both fun and eye-opening. Residents, prospects, and staff of all ages found it engaging, relevant, and full of great takeaways, especially around reframing how we communicate and approach change.

Carrie was a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Her communication leading up to the event was prompt and professional, and the day of, she delivered a session that was candid, funny, and full of heart.

She’s knowledgeable, lighthearted, and clearly passionate about helping older adults stay curious and connected. We can’t wait to welcome her back!
